Bits of my weekend

I know that Thursday is not technically the weekend, but it felt like it to me. P and I went to Mama Lans in Brixton Village for some VERY delicious dumplings. Including a bottle of wine purchased from Sainsburys, we ate ourselves silly for £24. What a deal!

On Friday, I met up with ex-colleagues/amazing friends. We had a great Chinese with exceptionally slow service at Manchurian Legends in Chinatown. But the service was irrelevant because we were talking and talking and talking and talking… sadly Louise had to leave at 10:30 to head back to west London, while the remaining three of us (plus Martin who we managed to bump into next to the restaurant) continued on to Strawberry Moons.

Now, the problem with Strawberry Moons is that you can’t take drink on the dance floor. This results in either a) things you can drink quickly (shots) or b) downing glasses of wine quickly so you can get back to dancing. I blame both of these things for the series of photos I took on the walk back from the night bus.

Luckily, I am marrying an absolutely amazing guy, who had left me snacks in the fridge and this helpful sign:

Needless to say, I felt pretty rotten on Saturday. I did manage to make it to both the South Lambeth Market (small but quite lovely and I bought some great children’s books for my god daughter) and The New Vintage (also small and lovely, but a bit too jostly for my hungover tastes. That said I could have spent a stack of money as everything was gorgeous). And the supermarket. So not a total washout.

Today I woke up fresh as a daisy, and P and I were treated to the delights of Wandsworth Homebase followed by a walk through Battersea Park. It looks so gorgeous at this time of year (Battersea Park, not Homebase).

And now, le sigh, another Monday looms. I wish I had the week off!
