Woah

On Thursday Peter and I got engaged! I have told the story too many times now, so am not going to write it all down right now (maybe another time), but needless to say it was very romantic. He got down on one knee, and of course, I said yes! Very exciting times, but there is quite a lot to organise with a wedding, isn’t there? Might need to take a few weeks to not think about that side too much…

The rest of the weekend seemed to involve rather a lot of celebrating/drinking. Firstly at Wireless festival (where I was in the VIP lounge with my friend Liz, who got the passes, and PRINCE HARRY WAS THERE. Liz had to physically stop me from taking his picture/trying to touch him. I am the least cool celeb spotter ever)…

I don’t know if it was the celebrations at being engaged, or the fact that I was on a ‘protein day’ on Dukan AND then didn’t have any supper (at all), or the fact that we were drinking from 530 in the sun, but I got very drunk on Friday. Not attractive. At all. I fell over at home and scraped all the skin off my knee.

On Saturday, my wonderful FIANCE (!) forced me out of bed, where I was lying feeling VERY ILL, to make the most of the sunny weather. We went round to my parents’ place and BBQ’d ourselves some damn fine ribs. Okay, I sat very still and tried not to be sick, and Peter did all the cooking. I made a salad.

We had a housewarming party, which obviously turned into a bit of an engagement celebration too. Almost everyone brought some kind of prosecco or cava or champagne, and we drank bubbly all night out of the champagne flutes some friends bought us as a housewarming gift.

I am actually embarrassed about our recycling this week. I don’t think I have ever had to recycle so many bottles of alcohol.

(this is about a tenth of the bottles…)

However, most of the weekend has been spent looking at my beautiful ring. Peter got it as a holding ring, so that we can choose one together, but how shiny is it!? So pretty. Delicious, too.
