Bits from my weekend

It looks as though we may have to leave the flat we only just moved into. Our landlady has decided to sell up and thought she would give us very early notice (even though officially, she can’t ‘evict’ us until late October). Very sad, but it does throw up the question about buying a place.

Should we? I feel kind of on top of my finances again, which is nice. Buying a flat will mean spending all of the money I have plus going into debt (not just with the bank!).  I wish we had another six months to do some hardcore saving.

Anyway, this weekend we spent Saturday looking at flats. Not the most fun way to spend a morning, but interesting. We’ll see what happens over the next few weeks and months…

Other than that, the weekend was spent writing and posting save the date invitations for the people hopefully coming to the service (mostly so I can find out which of my relatives is coming from overseas!), bowling, and drinking far too much beer for a Sunday.

I also started writing for a new blog, which I have started with two of my friends. It’s all about creating gorgeous ideas for your home and life that don’t cost a fortune. Our first couple of posts have been very wedding-heavy, but there should be a lot of different things coming up.

The weather was warm and sunny and it was generally lovely - who would have thought last weekend that London would feel calm and normal so soon afterwards? It’s like a different city…
