Bits of my weekend

Another lovely weekend spent in the capital. The plant that my cousin gave me for my birthday back in January is coming back into bloom, just as our tomato plant is coming to an end. We haven’t had a huge amount of tomatoes from it this year, but those we have eaten have been sweet and delicious.

Saturday was GOERGOUS.

I went to the Buy My Wardrobe Event (for new blog Shoestring Splendour - look out for a review of the event tomorrow) and had free champagne and looked at things I can’t afford. I also tried on my first wedding dress, which I could afford, but it looked horrible (too poufy). (This inspired me to spend the afternoon looking at wedding dresses only to decide that I kind of hate wedding dresses. I’m now thinking maybe I just want a pretty white dress rather than a “wedding” dress, which opens my options up considerably.)

I gave Hannah her birthday present.

I ogled the house porn in Holly Becker’s Decorate.

Sunday I went off Dukan for a day. Peter and I went to a car boot sale, but got there ridiculously early, so ended up having to go into Patisserie Valerie for a coffee and pastry. It was pretty tough.

The car boot was a bit rubbish.

Seeing as it was so nice on Saturday, we decided to have a barbecue at my parents’ house. But it was rubbish today. It was grey all morning then rained all throughout our BBQ cooking. Even the fish hid under the lilypads.

But it was worth it. Even when, literally FIVE MINUTES after we went inside to eat, the bloody sun decided it was going to come out in full force and be hot and sunny.

Really!? Now you’re going to be sunny!?

The weekends are going so quickly at the minute. I tried to soak up every minute of it, because the days are already feeling shorter and winter feels like it’s just around the corner…
